Our outing to Snape Maltings and Aldeburgh was accomplished successfully. Thank you so much to the drivers for navigating road works and parking. Serious consideration is ongoing for next year’s annual outing. Further afield perhaps.

We are off now for August, but will meet up again on Tuesday 8th September in the Village Hall to meet Caroline and Tom, the winners of last year’s Race Across the World programme. It’s probably still available on BBC iPlayer if you want to catch a bit of background to their amazing journey.

Subs are due. For £10 a year, and £1 a meeting thereafter, you will be able to come along to our warm village hall, be entertained, amused, educated or glittered for the year 26/27. Visitors are still charged only £3.00 an event. (can you even get half a dozen eggs for that price now!??)

Perhaps you could let one of the Committee know if you are bringing a friend to the September meeting, beforehand, to save a palaver with chairs.

The competition will be an acrostic poem, about your personal, special place in the world, Please put your name on the back. As an example:

           All my teenage time

           Years of fun and friendship

           Remembered with love

(Ayr – if you were puzzled)

We will have the programme for the next year available and a special raffle reflecting the content of this meeting.

Thank you to all the folk on the Committee: - Margaret Knights, Sue Merriam, Jos Bryant, Carol Galsworthy, Mary McCormack, Brenda Juby, Val Lawes and Brenda Stannard.

See you all in September. Margaret Knights
