Village Lunch

Huge thanks to Romaine Elsden and Jenny Harvey who stepped in at the last minute to cook for us. They baked jacket potatoes with a spectacular array of fillings. The table were loaded with selections of ham, cheese, tuna with sweetcorn, and salads. Harriet Bowes cooked a deliciously warm apple cake served with cream.

Next month we meet on Wednesday, 13th May at the usual time of 12.00 and plan to dine at 12.30. We welcome residents of Wickham Skeith who are 55 years old or over or those who attend one of the clubs or groups in Wickham Skeith regularly, but who don’t live in our village. Partners of eligible members are also welcome as are friends or relatives staying with a member. The cost is £5 for a 2-course meal with coffee or tea.  We will be holding our usual raffle so if you are able, please bring along an item for our raffle table.

Sadly, a few people who booked a place last month, didn’t come and didn’t inform us either. This left us considerably out of pocket as all the food had been bought and cooked. We understand that it is easy to forget a date and miss an event, we have all done it! However, we will have to charge people who miss a lunch and who haven’t cancelled in time.

If you wish to join us, please book a place by Friday 8th May. Please contact Jenny Elphick on her email jennymelphick@gmail.com  or mobile phone 07745416091
