In August we enjoyed our first lunch cooked in our new Kitchen. Thanks must go to Mid-Suffolk District Council who helped fund this through the Community Grant Scheme. The Village Lunch donated £650 towards this project.

The new cooker, with extra-large fan oven space, worked a treat and Steve McKie cooked us a fabulous chicken casserole. Thanks Stephen! Julia Ward prepared a lovely summery dish, an Eton Mess, which was delicious. Thanks, Julia, for being willing to cook for us for the first time.

Next month we meet on Wednesday, 9th September at the usual time of 12.00 and plan to dine at 12.30. We welcome residents of Wickham Skeith who are 55 years old or over, or those who attend one of the clubs or groups in Wickham Skeith regularly, but who don’t live in our village. Partners of eligible members are also welcome as are friends or relatives staying with a member. The cost is £5 for a 2-course meal with coffee or tea.  We will be holding our usual raffle so if you are able, please bring along an item for our raffle table.
